It Takes Two Farm started as a dream. I envisioned that one day I could offer my horses, share my knowledge and pass on my experience to those interested in learning about horses. It was also my desire to offer a “different” type of therapeutic activity. Making this dream a reality would not have been possible with out the support of my parents, children and friends.
Over the years many clients have asked about how the farm was named and what the name means. There are really three parts to the answer. First, I once had a horse named “It Takes Two”, Twoey, who was a great companion and an inspiration. There is a beautiful painting of him (with Arissa) that hangs in the classroom.
Secondly, it takes two, both a horse and a rider working together as a team to form a successful partnership.
Thirdly, it takes two to have a conversation, it takes two to have a successful relationship of any kind, it takes two people working together to accomplish goals and overcome obstacles. From a therapIeutic perspective it is this intertwining of two beings that creates a unique opportunity for comfort, growth, peace and joy.
All that is offered at It Takes Two Farm comes from my heart and it is my desire to provide a positive experience to all who enter.

Tayler moved to Windham and immediately found a home here at the farm. She took lessons and volunteered until she graduated from Windham High School in 2018. She then became my right hand gal with not only helping to care for the horses but also assisting with lessons. She has started her journey to become a Centered Riding Instructor and will be finishing her courses in June 2019. Tayler is adored by the horses and the students.
